Jimmie Johnson needed to finish 37th or better on Sunday to win his 3rd Consecutive NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship. He finished 15th and was crowned the 2008 NASCAR Champ, which ties Cale Yarborough and is one out of 2 to ever complete the three-peat. Carl Edwards, who was sitting in 2nd in points and trying to make Johnson feel the heat, won the race and will finish 2nd in the Standings.
Tony Stewart also finished his last race as a driver for Joe Gibbs Racing, as he will be leaving for his own team, Stewart-Haas Racing.
